myDetour 5x5: Illustrate your notebook and fly to Dakar!
During
May 2010, in conjunction with
Dak’Art, Biennale of Contemporary African Art,
myDetour 5x5 brings to Dakar the travelling exhibition of the
25 notebooks that have reached the final stage of the competition. The exhibition travels the streets of the Senegalese capital on a
car rapide, a minibus very common in Dakar, decorated on the exterior, for the occasion, by Senegalese artist Henry Sagna.
myDetour 5X5 is a travelling event organised by Moleskine in collaboration with Feltrinelli. Since November 2009, it has touched the cities of
Milan,
Parma,
Florence,
Naples and
Rome. The 25 notebooks include the winners of the stages of the project, as five illustrated notebooks were selected in each city.
myDetour 5x5 supports
lettera27 within the campaign "
Racism is a nasty poison", launched by Feltrinelli in 2008. The theme is in line with the projects supported by
lettera27 and in particular with
Confini. The latter tackles migration processes through original modalities, which include documentation of migration routes, Italian language classes, and the publication of migrants’ stories.
In this occasion too, the authors donate their notebooks to
lettera27: they become part of the Foundation’s heritage and archive. Different notebooks will be selected to be shown both online and offline.
